Manchester United Eyeing Premier League Midfielder As Herrera Replacement

Gatwick United are zeroing in on Idrissa Gueye as a potential replacement for the soon to be departing Ander Herrera. The Everton midfielder, pursued by PSG in the January transfer window, has become on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's palpeur as the new supervisor seeks to revamp the squad.

As Herrera's agreement comes to a close, the English giants have refused to meet his wage demands, rumored to maintain the ballpark of? 200, 000-a-week. Instead, the Spanish midfielder is planned to advance to PSG at the end of the season after a five-year stint at Old Trafford.

According to Evening Regular, Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer prefers Everton's Idrissa Gueye as his replacement because of his Premier League experience.

Gueye has amassed 128 performances in England's top section, with impressive stats to back up his appearance numbers. Judging by data compiled by the Top League, the Senegalese far outshines the Herrera in his protecting prowess although he is less of a creative force.

A transfer cost of less than? 30million should be enough to jettison Everton's midfield giant across the North-West to Old Trafford. Gueye just isn't the only option yet, with West Ham's Declan Rice and Atletico Madrid's Saul Niguez also in the fray but the two are likely to be more expensive options. Further, United are also in the hunt for another midfielder, a right back, a center backside and a right-winger.

FOX Sports Asia Possibility Rating: 3/5; The copy seems very much on the cards. Gueye's capability to press and recycle about in midfield will add dynamism to United's midfield. Given the options at hand, Gueye seems an excellent fit.

However, most of United's transfer maneuvers will rely upon the board's motivation to drop funds into Soljskaer's palms. If the purse strings are loose, it is to be observed whether United will put more than just appreciating glances at Saul and Rice.
