Raul Jimenez: Wolves sign Benfica striker for club record £30m

Jimenez scored as Wolves beat Manchester United 2-1 to reach Sunday's FA Cup semi-finals

Wolves have affirmed the club record marking of striker Raul Jimenez from Benfica for £30m. 


The Mexican, 27, has scored 15 objectives in 37 recreations since joining the Chief Association newcomers on a season-long advance in June 2018.

He has helped Wolves to seventh in the table and assumed a key job as they achieved Sunday's FA Glass semi-last against Watford.

The charge outperforms the £18m Wolves paid for Adama Traore in August 2018.

"I need to impact the world forever here at the club," said Jimenez, who has concurred an arrangement until the mid year of 2023.

"I need to return the club to the top places in the Head Class. I think we as a whole need that and have that aspiration.

"It's an amazing privilege for me to now be a perpetual individual from the group."

Jimenez moved to Benfica in 2015 after a season at Atletico Madrid and scored 31 objectives in 120 appearances for the Portuguese side.

He won back to back Primeira Liga titles with in 2015-16 and 2016-17, notwithstanding the Portuguese Glass and Portuguese Class Container.

Jimenez started his profession with Mexican side Club America and won two Liga MX titles.

At the 2012 Olympics in London, Jimenez went ahead as a late substitute in Mexico's 2-1 prevail upon Brazil in the gold decoration coordinate at Wembley.

He has scored 16 objectives in 71 internationals and played at the 2018 World Glass as Mexico achieved the last 16, losing to Brazil.
